Well, its abundantly clear that the strongest films in the franchise are the first two. Could it merely be coincidence that those are the two that Clive had direct involvement with? I think not. HE is the one who created this whole thing, and the less and less he is involved, the worse the films have become. Not to take away from the franchise, I thoroughly enjoy them all simply for the fact that Pinhead is worth watching. BUT, anybody can clearly see that Pinhead now, in the more recent films, is NOTHING like the Pinhead we see appear in the first two films. Clive has even made it a point to go on record saying that he HATED the fifth installment, and in case anybody hasn't noticed, he hasn't "presented" any of the Hellraiser films beyond the fourth film. He claims he does not like what they have done with the character (Pinhead).

Now, since he has stated that Pinhead will meet his demise in his newest novel "The Scarlet Gospels" because he wants the butchery of HIS character to end finally and he wants to do it HIS way and with "some style", I think it only right that Clive HIMSELF, come back and direct THE final film, and do it the correct, traditional way. The way that HIS first Hellraiser films were done. He has spoken on the DVDs about how he doesn't have it in him to direct another movie, but i think we (the fans) should push for him to do this. You know that after The Scarlet Gospels is published, people are going to be gunning for screenplays for it, to put it on film.

HE SHOULD BE THE PERSON TO END HIS FRANCHISE THE WAY HE STARTED IT.

The thing is with 5-8 is that they don't even seem like Hellraiser movies. If you take out the 10 or so minutes of Pinhead and the Cenobites scenes from those movies (less and less scenes as the movies go on) and then called them something else, you'd never know that they were once Hellraiser movies. Hell you might even think they were half way decent "psychological thrillers" if they weren't trying to pass themselves off as Hellraiser movies.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the producers just took sceenplays out of a big box at random and said "How can we put Pinhead in this".
