I don't like the Hellraiser movies anymore

The first two or three movies was fun enough. Creatures from another dimension and transformation of other humans. Now nobody gets transformed any longer, and the whole thing has turned into a game with cenobites lurking in the shadows, waiting for victims they can drag into hell. I really don't like the new direction, especially the part that most of the movie is going on inside the head of other people.

It doesn't matter. The main point is that the whole thing is NOT going on in the physical world or the physical body. And Hellraiser was never about hell and lost souls, that is a direction the movies have moved into in the last sequels, and is not how Clive Barker created them. And who talks about cenobites blowing up police cars in the streets?

Hellraiser 3 had the cenobites in the city streets blowin stuff up and killing cops at a baracade, etc...

I think that is what he was referring to.

What I'm referring to is the biblical stuff. Clive Barker created a new universe, but the Hellraiser universe now seem to have ended up in the bible, where they live in a biblical hell and collects souls in a biblical way. As long as the Hellraiser mythology sticks with its own religion/universe and focus some more on the physical body and world (both the one we live in and the one the cenobites live in), I won't complain. But this has not been the case for the last movies. Just like James Bond now has returned back to basics, I hope the cenobites too will do the same some day.

Yeah, I agree. It seems after "Hellraiser: Bloodlines" , the whole franchise just tanked! Let's hope the re-boot does the original Clive Barker source material justice.
