Lamont Configuration

Concerning Hellworld, part 8:

Okay so when she mispronounces it "The Lamont Configuration"
at the beginning of the movie this is not the writers messing up,
it's showing her limited understanding, she got it wrong, they didn't.
This was crucial to the development of the story.

That's just realistic writing. At least that's my take on it.

I have seen every one of these movies, and I own 1,2, 3, and 8 on DVD (aka, the only good ones), and I still have no idea what "the Lamont Configuration" is. I have heard Clive Barker talk about it in interviews, but it's never been explained what it is, exactly.

I caN'T BLAME THe writers or the characters for not getting it right when after 23 years and 8 films I, the viewer, still don't know what it's all about!

You're from the future?Well that's brilliant!Do they still have sandwiches there?

It's called the Lament Configuration. It's the puzzlebox that summons the cenobites.

When I first saw it, I thought she said the Lamaze Configuration and I almost died laughing Til I realized she was just pronouncing Lament wrong.

It had probably been floating around, misspelled on the Internet, before the movie came out. So I think there's some general misunderstanding there.

lol

Lamont. Sounds like a construction company. It's Lament! But a lot of people wouldn't know.
