Every Korean film I've seen...

Has stuck with me long after viewing it, always needed to talk extensively with my friends on my thoughts and how the movie left me feeling, and I think thats exactly how movies should make you feel. Hollywood has a lot to learn from them I think.

This is exactly how I feel, my friends just don't get it.

I always wonder if Korean's find Korean cinema as good as I do, or if I'm swayed by some feeling of mysticism for Korean culture. Watching Korean movies is like going to Disney World for me: the feeling is foreign, surreal, curious, timeless, comforting, etc. all rolled up into one emotion. It's hard to explain.

I guess Snowpiercer will shed some light on this for me, given it's produced through CJ Entertainment and helmed by Bong Joon-ho but is shot in English with a non-Korean setting.

Hence why I'm not looking forward to the Americanization of the new Oldboy movie, there's nothing to improve upon, so why try?
