Anybody try to watch the TCM broadcast of this movie?
When I did, about 80-90% of the dialogue was untranslated. They would give captions for sentence fragments instead of translating the entire sentence, it seemed like.

shareAnd about half of the subtitles were cut off screen. Shame...
shareActually, I figured out that the bottom of the subtitles were appearing below the bottom of the screen. If you change the aspect ratio to a more letterbox format, the entire subtitle can barely be made out. At least that's the way it worked for me.
shareIs there another version (on DVD or whatever) that has a better subtitle track?
I DVR'd it off of TCM, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Now I'm wondering if I should just skip it and go find it on DVD somewhere...
Same here. I recorded it in HD and that's why. The frame extends beyond the edge of screen and you lose all the subtitles. I never got to watch it. So disappointed.
It happened once before on TCM with Rocco and His Brothers. I had to wait for the movie to come on TCM again and this time I recorded it on their non-HD channel. I finally was able to read the subtitles.
