The ending...*spoiler
This is one of the best endings to a movie I've ever seen. Nobody knows who the murderer is except the killer and the girl...that's what made it so creepy. The detective prided himself as having "shaman's eyes" but in this case, he had nothing to go on...just an "ordinary person." It could be anyone...even one of us. That is why he looks directly into the camera.
