The Entity...worst boss ever?

Just finished the game with Mulder, and I never cheated once...EXCEPT during the final boss.
Seriously, why make that boss ultra-impossible? It would be different if you could save on the alien spaceship between forms...but even then it would still be hard. I love this game, but I really hate that I had no alternative to cheating at the end (the only alternative being to try and beat the boss for a week, while getting incredibly frustrated...something I don't think a game should be).
I think this has a place in game history as being one of the hardest bosses ever. I hear that Ninja Gaiden's pretty hard, but surely this must be just as difficult. Has anyone here actually beaten this without cheating?
I would love another X Files game...but just because it deals with the impossible doesn't mean it should BE impossible.
