Question about Pia and the Nazi Grandpa

I know that Pia had taken up with a boyfriend in Israel. After they had broken up, how did she manage to stay in Israel. She wasn't Jewish, so she wouldn't be entitled to automatic citizenship. Did she become a naturalized citizen? Did she convert to Judaism? Did she have some kind of special work visa that would let her stay in Israel?

I also have a question about the Nazi Grandpa. He was hiding in South America to avoid being arrested for war crimes. Why on Earth did he suddenly return to Germany? Wouldn't he have been arrested upon entry into Germany? Did his family somehow arrange for the charges to be dismissed? I thought this was a pretty glaring plot oversight.

If someone could help me with these two items, it would be much appreciated.

Volunteers in Kibbutz get a special volunteer visa which they can renew every six months.
As for the Nazi grandpa - this matter isn't covered very well, but the Mosad operator (Menachem, I think) says in the movie that due to a political deal no one could have touched him until recently, and at that point - when the deal was over - he disappeared (and that is why Eyal has to find him).
