This documentary brought about Michael's acquittal
Little do you know but it was precisely because of this manipulated docutabloid from Martin Bashir that brought about Michael's trial & even MORE remarkably Michael's acquittal from that trial.
Anybody who has paid attention to the facts surrounding this case against Michael can look at this film & see many of the players mentioned in this case.
Why there's Dieter Wiesner right there sitting right next to MJ in the limo in Germany as that guy dances MJ-style in front of MJ's limo before being pulled off the street by the cops.
Why there's Chris Carter, the bodyguard, a short moment later walking in front of MJ as they enter a building.
Why there's Hamid Moslehi, the videographer, fixing the 2nd camera in Michael's living room as Michael sits on the couch with his red shirt towards the final piece of the film.
The 2nd camera that got all those outtakes Martin Bashir tried to hide from the court.
It was BECAUSE of Martin Bashir's thirst to make a name for himself from Michael Jackson that Michael ultimately ended up vindicated in court. And yes pay attention to the date I am saying these words (June 5th 2005). I am indeed saying these things before the fact. But it's not hard to see really. No jury worth its salt could possibly convict Michael on a case like this. All the court has proven is what people who saw past the dubious narration Bashir painted on top of this documentary had already seen.
The fact that Michael Jackson is a kind, overly generous, idealistic, socially naïve individual who marches to the beat of his own drummer.
The Santa Barbara County District Attorney, Tom Sneddon, was foolish enough to build his entire case on this documentary by Martin Bashir. Knowing that, it was no surprise he failed. He brought down his whole career trying to fulfill an ill-advised vendetta for glory & power. And because time was ticking he saw this film as his last hope of ever fulfilling that warped dream.
Michael should be glad he made this film despite Bashir's manipulation of the footage. It made him a free man after all...
