This film appears to have been done with some sort of comedy intention. If it tries to be hard hitting or serious, it fails. The original Walking Tall with Joe Don Baker is an awesome film and much grittier than this, and Buford Pusser did what he had to do without all this 'look at my badass skills' demeanour that the rock puts on in this. Not very impressed, sorry.

I never saw the original one. I'm sure this was put on a little with all the hollywood stuff. The Rock is an entertainer. I can't take him too seriously in a serious role but I thought he did a fine job.
