Length and end fight scene

Personally I think the length of the movie is one of its more loveable qualities, nobody was expecting an all time great, but its an enjoyable action film with some morlas thrown in, the time is great, its the sort of film you throw on and then watch not long afterwards!
However, one thing that allways confused me is just how does the main villain (I cant put my finger on his name) even hold a candle to the rock!?
The guy just looks like a normal middle aged fella, yet the rock is an ex-beret and is a grock and a half!
I just dont know how they thought that would be a believable, even fight.
Any thoughts?

Finally, in a wrestling movie match up....

The Marine or Walking Tall????

I thought is was stupid that when The Rock squared off against the main bad guy at the end of the movie, all the bad guy had was like a metal pole and then an axe to attack The Rock with. I mean, he had to know well in advance that The People's Champ would be looking for him, so why didn't he arm himself with something that could do major damage to The Rock, like a shotgun or Shawn Michaels? The mind boggles...

Beyond good. Beyond evil. Beyond your wildest imagination.

The whole time I was expecting a Rock Bottom

Because Shawn Michaels is considered a WMD, and hence outlawed. Shock & Awe!
Man, you made my day with that!
Lets see, shotgun... naw, I think I'll arm myself with Shawn Michaels today.
And yeah, to the OP, I agree, the movie had good morlas. Not saying this to be a dick, but that typo also made me laugh, I woulda laughed if I wrote it.

Naw, this movie is great, its a simple action flick with a solid story and excellently choreographed fight scenes (American movies could use much more of this style, nowadays its all closeups and reaction shots, not so much the case in this movie which is all the better for it). You can really watch it with anybody and enjoy it. I don't care if the matchup was uneven, they played it out well by emphasising the Rocks bum knee. Plus, Johnny Knoxville deserved a best supporting actor nomination or something, the recovering rockstar/heroine addict turned do-gooder to his best friend role he played to the T and made me think he could actually be a good actor. Plus the fight scene in the house with him in it is hilarious (shotgun jams, runs over and hits the guy in the face with it, the guy points shotgun at Johnny, Johnny grabs the barrel, and the guy hits him in the face with the barrel. Also, who could forget "You stabbed me with a potato peeler?!"). The Rock is already a good actor in my book. But the director also deserves credit for that.

When a man's got money in his pocket he begins to appreciate peace.

"The guy just looks like a normal middle aged fella"

I don't think so, maybe a 40-year old that works out everyday. It's obvious he isn't a normal, overweight, out of shape American. He has good genetics and a masculine build, easily noticed by his facial structure alone.

Like when they're getting ready to play football and he lobs it at The Rock from across the field, something is said alluding to the past that he was QB on their high school team. Not to mention The Rock has a bum knee and Neal McDonough had weapons against him.

I almost cried in the end scene. Poor Neal =[

What i think:

A shotgun would have been noisy but mainly i think he just wanted to knock the Rock down into the industrial machinery that way he could just say to anyone who cared it was an accident. Also, the Rock was pretty hurt. He fell down that first fall with Jay and then got knocked down about 30 feet onto the ground(which was all rocks) on his back. He also probably slammed his head. And im pretty sure his knee was hurt.

It was more of an even fight when you think about it.
