seems nice, but what do i know. :)

She's pretentious, whiney and annoying. Reminds me of the little slags you get on my super sweet 16, annoying character.

reply

Actually at the moment of filming (late 2003)the actress was just 14!! she looked a bit older though(16 I guess)specially when she goes to a Motel...isn't it a bit too much to perform that scene by a 14 year-old???

reply

in the commentary it was said (more than once) that she was only 13 when they filmed it. great actress.

i'm not short...i'm fun sized!!

reply

Wow, I coulda swore she was 15.

reply

I agree, Josh! I think the actress is reeeally good in this role, especially considering how young she was and how mature some of the scenes were (and yeah, she's a total stunner), but MAN i hated Audrey!

Of course it wouldve been hard to lose her parents, but did she have to be such a $hit to Helen? she needed to stop being such a little cow and understand that Helen had lost her own mother, (possibly her father), and now her sister, so it's not like she's the only one suffering. geez!

okay, sorry for the rant. hehheheh

I was entirely on her side.Helen and Mommy Jenny should have left her alone-except helping her with condoms and fake ID.America's vicious anti-youth laws need to be undermined.not complied with.

"I was entirely on her side.Helen and Mommy Jenny should have left her alone-except helping her with condoms and fake ID.America's vicious anti-youth laws need to be undermined.not complied with."

WHAT?!?! Yeah, that's gonna help. First of all, fake ID are illegal. That's why they're FAKE! Second, giving her condoms is NOT THE SOLUTION! They did the RIGHT thing in tracking her down and stopping her! What a great scene for Hollywood to act out! I wish there could be more such instances. I don't know what "vicious anti-youth laws" that need to be undermined that you are talking about, but praise God for any kinds of laws. Someone has to stand up for and watch these kids. And yes, 16 year olds are kids! I am 22 and I wish someone would have helped me like that at that age. Helen and especially Jenny were helping Audrey and she'll thank them later for it, I promise! So, yeah. Condoms and compliance are NOT the answer; the only hurt everyone involved!

reply

By vicious anti-youth laws I mean curfews and a drinking age of 21-draconially enforced.Any kid who breaks that law is a hero-the same goes for all those who break victimless crime laws.Fake IDs ilegal-so what?We can drink at 18 in Britain.

reply

I don't really no about the curfew thing, but the drinking thing actually makes sense. The liver, which alcohol typically attacks is not even fully developed until someone is 21. So the law makes sense. True, maybe if it was more like Europe, how they have it at meals so that everyone is not so obsessed with it, is a good idea. But lowering the drinking age would do nothing but harm.

The Scene that I saw for Audrey Davis and the Prom Date that doesn't among Helen & Mrs. Portman wants her to come home by counting her down from 10 to 1 from Mrs. Portman and be punishment for the remainder of her School Year and then afterwards She ran away to Portland, ME and never come back and The Davis-Harrises were shocked into a uproar. Helen & Mrs. Portman and her family drove up to the Greyhound Bus Station and stop her from leaving New York, NY and going to Portland, ME and Helen apologizes her for ruining the Prom.

Audrey changed drastically after the death of her parents, but that is to be expected.

Some of these comments are retarded, the laws are in place for a reason. It's a proven fact that kids are stupid. The ones I went to school with, should never be allowed to drink, regardless of the law. In any case, Audry's logic is quite flawed. She is a kid, and if she needs a fake ID to do it, chances are she isn't supposed to do it.

We can drink at 18 in Britain. Why not in America?Doing things you legally shouldn't while underage is a sign that a kid's got red blood in their veins. No victim,no crime.

reply

marktayloruk, how old are you? I can only assume you are a teenager and therefore do, very slightly, understand your opinion, because at sixteen, I felt the same way. I am Australian, and we are allowed to drink at eighteen, and whilst I have never understood the US's legal drinking age, especially when I was there at age twenty, laws are in place for a reason. I am twenty three years old, not old by any means, and I have more respect for those laws now than I did a few short years ago. Audrey was going through a phase that everyone goes through to a certain degree, some more than others, and her parents death certainly exacerbated that. She behaved like a brat at times, but we forget that we were all like that at one time. Just so you know, there are victims in these crimes. The fact that she had sex as a minor is a very serious situation, she would have eventually realised that, and had to live with it, once she had the maturity to. Last year I got a phone call from the police in the middle of the night, which was frightening enough, to tell me that my little brother (sixteen) had been in a drunken fight and had been very badly beaten up and had also caused extensive damage to the person he fought. I had to drive out to the police station and pick him up and deal with all impending legalities. This is why underage drinking is a crime, because at that age, no one has any sense, you just dont realise it until you grow out of it. You will too.

reply

I'm forty-nine.I wasn't a wild teenager.And I still say-no victim,no crime.People only regret having had sex as a minor because of emotional pressure from vindictive,smallminded moralists.If it feels good,do it!

reply

She didn't have sex in the movie, she was about too, then BIG BAD Jenny & Soft, Easy Going Helen showed up. Could you imagine though if she did, OH GOD.

reply

We can drink at 18 in Britain. Why not in America?

Because we're not Britain and it's all right to have different laws than you? We have our laws set for reasons as do you guys. I think at your age you'd be able to understand why.

See, I'm not a monster...I'm just ahead of the curve.

That seems like an over sensitive response. I'm an American and I don't think that British person was picking on America at all. I think it was more like they thought that Americans should be allowed to drink at 18. I don't think the drinking age should be different than the age to be drafted or to vote. Either lower the drinking age or raise the age to vote.

I believe in full adult rights for 16-year-olds and less regulations generally. If there's less than one chance in ten thousand of something going wrong, take the risk!

reply

Most 16years olds are definitely not mature enough to be called adults....there are also many adults not mature enough either, but 16 would be ridiculous.

The whole "if it feels good, do it" ideal is what has caused a lot of problems in our society. It may be well and good in some cases, but it only applies when the individual's decision is informed, and very few decisions made by teens fit that mold. When you're 16, you don't have the ability to see that your behavior has implications and your choices have consequences you're not capable of seeing through the lens of your young years. It is certainly NOT only because of "small minded moralists" that teens end up regretting having sex at a young age. No offense, but that's ridiculous. The way males and females view sex, love, relationships is VASTLY different, be it at 16 or 60. Sadly, young girls do not understand just how cruel and manipulative teenage boys can be. Do you really think BZ cared about or respected Audrey in the way she believed he did, the way she deserved? Of course not, once he got what he wanted from her, he would've tossed her aside like yesterday's garbage, leaving her more sad and alone than before. THAT is what would've made her regret it in a major way later on, that she wasted something she expected to be beautiful and special on a jerk that really didn't care about her and her feelings. Audrey was vulnerable because she was recovering from a devastating loss and she was looking for a way to fill the empty void her parents' death left in her life. She wanted to feel special and and desired. Like many guys, BZ had no problem taking full advantage of that, he didn't really care about Audrey, he only cared about how she made him feel. Once he got what he wanted, he wouldn't have thought twice about breaking her heart, but like many girls, she didn't see that. We live in a world that glamorizes sex so much, it's pathetic. Our kids only see the alleged "good parts" of it. The world would have young people believe sex is no big deal, it's just a part of their lives, but kids are unable to see that the world lies to them. Sex is a major responsibility with serious repercussions you're not ready for when you're still a kid. I thank God I learned very early in life that a man will sleep with any woman who will have him. I didn't want to be "any woman", I wanted to be me, I wanted to know that when I did make the decision to have that relationship with someone, that it was because he loved ME and wanted ME, not just what I had to offer him. So many young girls will do WHATEVER it takes to get a guy and it's really sad. I'm glad Jenny and Helen stopped Audrey from making a big mistake because she deserved better.
