Getting the King's children straight
One of the reviews states that "Georgie" was a 23 year old Naval cadet when his brother died, not a 16 year old. This is not true. I think it's important to get King George V's chidlren straight:
Edward, called "David", was born in 1894 and succeed to the throne as Edward VIII in 1936, then abdicated to marry Mrs. Simpson and sent the rest of his life as the "Duke of Windsor", dying in 1972
Albert, called "Bertie", was born in 1895 and succeeded his brother in 1936, calling himself George VI after his father. He died in 1952, succeeded byu his daughter, Elizabeth II.
Mary, who looked much like the current Princess Anne, was born in 1897 and died in 1965. She married the Earl of Harewood.
Henry, who became the Duke of Glouster, was born in 1900 and died in 1974.
George, who became the Duke of Kent, was born in 1902 and died in a plane crash in 1942.
John, the subject of the story, was born in 1905 and died in 1919. "Georgie" was 17 the year he died and could have been 16 if his birthday had not come yet, (the book I'm looking at just has the years).
I hope that clears things up. "Georgie" is not George VI.
