I don't have a clue what's going on in this show

I don't know what's happening, what anyone's saying, this is like Shakespeare in the old west. Anyone else completely fvcking lost watching this show?

Put the subtitles on and you'll get a better grasp of everything.

Yeah... 'twas tuff fer me, too... but watch it again, and again. You soon get it, and realize it kinda adds to the realism, in that they spoke differently back then. Also, as you start to 'get it', it's like you see a whole new dimension to it.
I've got the whole boxed set, and can't watch it too much... but then, I'm sober.

Ok. Hurst is shot... Doc has just come to the Gem from treating Hurst, and wants to speak with Mrs. Elseworth.
They sit down upstairs to talk... and, evidently, start speaking of when Sophia was first found by Bullock.
What does that have to do with anything happening in camp?
Maybe I'm just too sober.

Can't really tell if fans of this series are either deceived by the fallacious notions that....

1. Since it's an HBO series, that makes it automatically good.

2. Bloviation, sluggish pacing, and convulsion = good writing.

The verbal flourishes are responsible for some of the best dialogue in tv history! I LOVE this scripting!

Totally agree. Hope the movie is just as grand.

They are talking about Ellsworth's funeral. They are trying to figure out if showing Sophia the body would be traumatic or not based on what she saw/didn't see when her parents were killed
