One Question
I actually enjoyed this movie even though it felt "unfinished " to me. Did Halle kill Doug?? Or was that just a dream/vision of hers?

shareYes she did kill Doug, while she was possessed by the ghost who wanted revenge on him.
This is something I dont get either.. ok, Doug was a sick and twisted man, but still she brutally murdered him. Why would she be "all better" and out of jail only a year later? Same with Chloe? That timeframe seems unrealistic with regard to the complicated justice system and all the intense therapy both women needed to get through thier respective situations.
"Dont I deserve love? And jewelry?"
Maybe her doctor friends helped her out in that respect becuase by then they all knew doug was a serial killer and even if they didn't believe that she was posessed they might have made it seem that she found out about it and when she did she had a mini breakdown or something.
Also, Chloe was proved right when she was saying that she was being raped in the hospital because the cop was doing it with Dougs help.

You're the only person who is clearly having a problem understanding this film. The Cheif of Police didn't kill Doug. Halle Berry did. She was possessed by the little girl who wanted revenge on both Doug and the Chief. Thats why the little girl helped her defeat the Chief at the end as well.

how can you prove the girl was not a hallucination?
Well, the ghost opened the cell door (though that could be just an electricity problem) and she saw the girl on the bridge, before she was taking any medication. So, why would she be hallucinating?
Also, she had her fingerprints all over the murder weapon.

The script apparently makes it clear that she killed him whilst possessed.
I think anything else is a rather unintuitive interpretation anyway.
