Entertaining But Not Rooted in Reality

I enjoyed the film but I noticed (as I'm sure everyone else has) several unrealistic situations that would never transpire:
1. If you're a psychiatrist and you commit a crime because of temporary insanity over discovering your husband's a sexually deranged psychopathic killer - they would NOT put you in your own psychiatric facility pending a transfer because the others are overcrowded. C'mon, REALLY? (head tilt, shaking head increduously)

2. Placing her in the general population of her own former patients - wth?

3. Being treated by her friends and peers. Seriously?

4. The ending kills me. Both Dr. Grey and Chloe are released. WHY? They both killed monsters who had it coming. But suddenly they're deemed mentally well and fit to be reintroduced into society? They were in a 'psychiatric and correctional facility'. This is not rooted in reality.

Does this movie realize that professionals in the field of psychology will be rolling their eyes at this?

Yeah there is generally no way that those things can logically be explained. If you ignore the illogical aspects of the movie though ("logic is overrated") then it's a pretty darn good movie.

If this movie was trying to be rooted in reality, there wouldn't be any ghosts in it either. Nor would a good ole boy sheriff be best buds with a presumably sophisticated upper class psychiatrist. Nor would a lovely young woman like Miranda be married to a morbidly obese serial killer twice her age.

1. Miranda didn't experience temporary insanity as a result of discovering Doug's secret life. Miranda was possessed by Rachel at the bridge and Rachel used her body to kill Doug. Miranda woke up in the institution and didn't discover her husband's secret until Rachel's ghost led her to the clues.

2 & 3. They wanted to ground Miranda in reality, not take her away from it. They surrounded her with the people that she identified with in order to gain her trust and lead her back to the place where she was considered sane.
