So who killed Doug?

Liked the movie. Lots of good, tense moments. Decent acting.

Okay, she discovered the second killer. But who killed Doug?

Thanks

I could be wrong about this, but it seems like people are saying Halle Berry killed him while possessed by Rachel the dead girl.

Thanks, adabee!

That makes sense. The funny thing is, that I didn't even question it during the film. It was afterwards I started wondering.

Although if she did kill him, I wonder what the authorities believe happened? She's apparently not charged with murder at the end.

Yeah, you're right. The Rockies are in trouble... But as a caller on radio said today, "They just have to do what they did for the last weeks of the season: win every game!

I don't think that is the case. Remember how in the beginning it was all about "repressing"? I wouldn't be surprised if she knew about Doug being a killer, or at least if she guessed it all and suppressed. Then, the storm kicks it into action, and she kills him because of what he did. I don't think she was possessed, since he told him at the very end that she loves him.

rachel possessed miranda then killed doug

reply

Correct. It does make you wonder how Miranda did not get charged with the murder, though. I mean, what judge and jury are gonna accept a "possessed" plea ?

Or did the DA let it slide because Doug was a serial killer ? It's still murder, right ?

I have read the script and it clarifies that Miranda indeed killed her husband . The ghost possessed her , she snapped , grabbed the axe and slaughtered him . The ending is radically changed because the producers wanted a more "Hollywood" - type resolution . Miranda actually escaped in the end . Robert Downey Jr , the girl's father and the rest of the hospital staff knew that Miranda was practically innocent . Therefore they all testify in favor of Miranda , so Doug's accomplice takes the blame for all the crimes , including Doug's murder . Of course his death at the hands of Miranda is classified as "self-defense" . Essentially they covered the whole thing .

The ending is much more simple but the script made more sense . Hope this information clears it out for you .

Thanks, Pansam. That really clears up a lot.

You are welcome . Reading the scripts (icluding early drafts) actually resolves many ambiguous plot points for numerous films .

I just seen the movie last week and I had to come on here to find out if she really did kill her husband and I really could not say for sure at the end of the movie.

Do whatever it takes, by any means necessary

Thanks very much for this. Lots of people say they have read the script. Please provide the ISDN number so that I can do so, too. By the way, Amazon says no.

In other words, I call BS on this.

The script establishes it is a ghost story.

Amazing how this script makes the characters more believable than the movie did. This script actually seems to would have been a better movie.
