Has anybody else noticed that Natoru is distinctly efeminate in the Japanese version, but is a guy in US dub?

Waaaa!!!! That's crazy, oh I'm so glad my version has no US dub. It seems stupid that they'd make this sort of change

The king's messanger. Natoru was the cat riding with Haru when they went through the portal to the cat kingdom.

No, that cat is a guy. It seems Studio Ghibli does that a lot. Jiji's voice is female, Moro's voice is male, and Pazu's voice is female. It's kinda nice that they clear that up in the English dub.

Hah, it's not a Ghibli thing, it's in Japanese culture for cats to have feminine voices even if they are male.

i think its a cultural thing Natoru gets beaten around a few times in this film and perhaps the english dub director didnt like the idea of a female charachter being treated like this which maybe isnt as big a deal in japan (im not acusing the japanese of being woman beaters by the way im just saying that it probably meant as much to them as a male character being beaten up) anyway i think they changed Natoru into a male to make it less riscky for the english and american audiance
