There used to be a thread on this but imdb likes to do board cleanup from time to time and sweeps a lot of the information away.

It took a bit of time because the subtitles in the movie is different than the one in the poetry anthology. It's called Tom Beatty in the Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters: http://www.bartleby.com/84/147.html

And of course the name of the film is from a poem by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
