Books

Hi everyone,

During the movie, we see many books. Matteo loves reading them and you see some of the names very clearly.

There is a list for the music that has been played during the movie but I would like us all to contribute to write the names of the books as well.

One specific book I am looking for, although it's a little unclear, is when Nicola Carati reads to the son of Matteo, when Nicola stops, the son says: "Continue!" and then Nicola continues. Does anyone know what book he is reading?

Thank in advance!

That's a good idea.
I was wondering about the excerpt he was reading to Matteo's son, too (will have to listen again and do Italian text search), but I do remember "The Treasure Island" being read aloud to one of the children (Sara, probably) earlier in the movie.
Also, there is a reference to "The Cherry Orchard" by Chekhov when the three friends are in Florence and discuss the old man who reminds them of Firs.
I also remember Matteo checking a book by Sherwood Anderson out of the library, and something by Sartre being pulled off the bookshelf early in the first episode.
Not to mention numerous quotes from Italian poets.
I think I'll come back to this thread yet...
