Im afraid of watching a 6 hour film to find it not good.
How can a good film be 6 hours? What could you honestly depict in a whole 6 hours?

I agree with the previous posts...watch for just 1 hour...you will be hooked! Think of it as an amazing HBO mini-series, but better! I saw it several years ago at Denver's film festival. I loved it so much that I bought several copies of the DVD when it became available...one for myself and the others I sent to friends and family. You will want to see more of these characters after the last scene ends.
shareSeeing Alessio Boni for a few hours is good enough for me! XD
shareRoger Ebert once said that there's no such thing as a good film that's too long, or a bad film that's too short.
It's all about the content. It's why TV series are so popular. It allows so much more time to develop and grow characters, without having to rush anything. Although of course it's not quite as slow as a TV series and doesn't have any filler or side plots to take up air time, but the long duration naturally allows you to care so much more about the characters and what they're doing. I've seen a lot of great films in the 3-4 hour range and the duration has never been an issue; instead it's a positive and gives the films more of an identity. Even this film at 6 hours I didn't want to end because it was so engaging. I could sit through another 6 hours.
Hi Conquerer13,
Just like you, I didn't want the film to end. I watched it but not for 6 straight hours straight but for about 90 minutes each segment. I really felt like I knew this family especially toward the middle of the series. I believe this was originally an Italian TV series turned into a film. It works as a film and was probably very watchable as a weekly TV show.
I recommend this film to anyone who enjoys film with various characters, family and several interconnected plots. Fabulous!
Best,
Ruben
