What happened to Berto?

The friend who studied Philosophy. He was in the early part of the movie when they were taking exams. He had a terrific smile!

i wanna know where is Berto too. he suddenly dissapears in the movie. why? or where?

I believe he is the same man who got laid off from the car factory, then eventually started his own construction company that worked on the house in Tuscany.

"My name is Paikea Apirana, and I come from a long line of chiefs stretching all the way back to the Whale Rider."

Yeah he's the construction worker that didn't go through as great of a career arc as the other two. Remember early in the film they discuss how one in three graduates will probably struggle to find work? Foreshadowing.

I don't think so. These are two different characters. The construction guy was Vitale. In my oppinion Berto just dissapeared from their lives. This happens...
