Why aren't they portrayed in this film? Himmler joined the SS in 1925 and became deputy Reichsfuhrer SS in 1927. He became the Reichsfuhrer SS in 1929. Important to the story!
Magda was essential to the story too, especially since she had a close and special friendship with Hitler. She married Goebbels in 1931. She wasn't your average "Nazi" wife.
I think they used the character of Helene (Julianna Marguiles) to stand in for Magda Goebbels. More economical that way. Since you're going to show a devoted Nazi female, why cast two actresses when one can do just as well.
Himmler, I don't know. They have pictures of him attending early party meetings, along with Strasser, Rohm and early cronies of Hitler. So why was he not represented here ?
Yeah, I found this very strange too. Not one mention of Himmler in the whole movie IIRC. You even see Goering and Goebbels but his right hand man is nowhere to be found even when the SS is formed.
