Question on Hitler meeting his niece for the first time in 10 years

When she comes up to the mountains to see him and we first realize that he's romantically interested in her, why does he make her go around him in circles when they're in that field? I never understood that.

That's a good question. I just got the impression he wanted to admire her girly figure but that whole scene is rather ambiguous because she starts to weep for some reason.

I'm sure someone will have a better insight to a deeper meaning. I'd also be interested to hear other people's take on that scene

I personally thought it was one of the worst scenes in the movie. It just made Hitler look to much of an over the top crazy psycho (its not like its hard to make Hitler look evil just by historical sources alone). Especially considering that the details of Hitler-Gelis relationship is largely unknown. All we know is that he kept extremly tight control of her and that her death effected him tremendously for the rest of his life(most sources indicates that he loved/desired her though).

Im not one of those people that HATE the movie because of its many inaccuracies. I think its okay. I just wished that it had explored more of the actual Hitlers personality, which to me is alot more intresting (And disturbing) than anything in this movie. Hitler just seems like TO MUCH of a wack job in this. Underistimating evil tyrants (or making them into caricatures) just makes it harder to truly learn from history.
