I've watched this several times, I like the era and the politics of the time. However, you can't get away from the biased way they've portrayed Hitler. The 'evil' sounding music when he appears on screen, his character seems like a stereotype of a villain. It's a shame they're scared to portray Hitler as a human being, subject to all the pressures everyone else is exposed to. This is why Downfall got attacked, because he wasn't a one dimensional character that talked about Jews 24/7.

Other than the over-the-top portrayal of Hitler and his associates, it's a great film.

i have to say i thought the beginning of the movie was quite bad, it was trying to make Hitler as some raving foam mouthed anti social yahoo, while maybe he was in a way , ultimely he must off been charming to an extent to get the support he did. The part of his youth was the film saying this is Hitler, he mad you know it seem simplistic and condescending to a degree.
