The Clash

I know it's in the trivia section, but having watched this movie before reading about it on IMDB, I'm was shocked and amused to see Mick Jones singing his own song at the karaoke bar. I also can't believe this hasn't been mentioned before on this board! I found this incredibly hilarious.

I was suprised that more people did not catch that through the first viewing. It made me smile.

I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS MICK JONES AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A BAD SINGER USED ON PURPOSE. HOLY COW!!! HOW FUNNY!!!!

reply

why would you have thought it was a bad singer? even if it wasn't him, you'd have to have notice the voice was spot on

reply

Aye, but if I remember correctly, he delivers it in a very deadpan manner, and according to the trivia, gets the lines wrong. I did recognize Mick Jones, but I could see how some people might not recognize him straight away and only pick up on the delivery.

reply

I'm a Clash fan, but I never liked Jones as a singer.

reply

I was 80 percent sure it was him; glad to hear it confirmed. Pretty hilarious little cameo.

i understand that the film is intended to portray an even more globalised world, but all the Spanish words (I'm Argentinian, Spanish is my first language) included in the dialogues make me rather angry--all of the lines sound odd, especially when the characters talk about a "papel" or "papaya" or whatever they're talking about.

Any thoughts?

Unusual to see the original singer turn up at Karaoke!

It's that man again!!
