Frustration...
Proof that at times this website is an absolute joke. This should totally be in the top 250. It is one of the most stunningly directed films I have ever seen and the story was quite touching. This is criminally underrated

sharei second that...this was truly one of the most amazing films i have ever seen and i feel jipped that i didnt hear word of it in its 3 years of existence...i happened to stumble across it at the video store and since i loved Amelie i thought it would be good as well... It is a masterpiece
The top-250 is a popularity contest and has nothing to do with the quality of a movie! This movie shouldn't be in the top-250 since it didn't get enough (high) votes for that.
Apart from that, I found this movie to be excruciatingly boring. It was like watching a water tap filling a bucket. Cliché after cliché, in the cinematography, use of music and plot. Also, the way the secondary actors (parents, mailmen etcetera) were reacting to things happening in the movie was totally unrealistic. The use off color was in my eyes annoying and the shots of war weren’t as impressive as they wanted it to be.
The Top 250 is a total waste of space and time. A meaningless popularity contest, and nothing more. It's controlled by fanboys who votes 10 the latest blockbusters and votes 1 timeless classics by the greatest filmmakers ever.
Having said that, I think that Amélie and Delicatessen are Jeunet's best films (Delicatessen was co-directed by Marc Caro), followed by AVLE and The City of Lost Children (also co-directed by Caro)
