deaf girl not deaf anymore?

This deaf girl in the beginning on the beach. He later on met this girl again in the theater (near the end of the movie), but then she was not deaf anymore. That was the same girl right? Because she also said, you owe me a day on the beach.. so it must have been her or am I missing something here.

I noticed in the scene in the theater that she was wearing a hearing aid. So perhaps we can assume that she was then able to be fitted with one that would help her condition, which was not available when she was younger. Just my guess.
