The Op has a point, i watched this movie with my girlfriend and spoiled The SS for her... Now truly I couldn't believe she had never watched The SS before...

The Sixth Sense came out in 1999. You're telling us that we should wrap society in cotton wool for FIFTEEN YEARS (or until your girlfriend gets around to watching it)? Boo Hoo you got the movie spoiled. If you hadn't seen the movie in fifteen years, it's clearly not a priority, so neither should having it spoiled bother you.

As someone said on another similar thread, it's a numbers game. Far more people were entertained by this scene than had the sixth sense spoiled.

Ha, that is a nice way of looking at it. Spoilers definitely have an expiration date. When the movie in question is over a decade old you lose your rights to complain about it. Hell, it was old even in 2004 when this movie came out.

Agree with the OP. They shouldn't have revealed the ending no matter how old the movie is. Sure, a lot of people have seen it and already know how it ends, but there are still a few who haven't seen it yet as well as the next generation of children who are currently too young (or not born yet whatever the case may be) to watch The Sixth Sense. Shouldn't these people be able to enjoy watching a movie like 50 First Dates first and not have it spoil the ending of another movie?

Not trolling. If you search my previous posts, you'll see I have history of fairly sincere and well thought out replies (granted, I have a few silly replies as well). I was merely agreeing with the OP, and it is, of course, merely an opinion. And I wouldn't expect everyone to agree, which doesn't automatically make me a troll.

I agree that even though it was funny, it wasn't necessary. They could have still done the joke without explicitly giving away the twist. Like, "Wow! Did you see that coming?" and left it at that.

But, anyone who chooses to watch 50 First Dates before The Sixth Sense kind of has it coming anyway.

I kind of agree with the OP.
But gezz 15 years is a long time.

On the other hand I could spoil the movie 'Soyent Green' and the Twilight Zone episode 'To Serve Man' both of which must be over 40 years old and I'd most likely still get someone complain that I didn't spoil alert as to what I was about to say.

Staying with 'Twilight Zone' and 'Outer Limits' there are still many episodes of each that I still need to get around to watching - so that's why I 'kind of' agree with the OP.

To be fair to the OP and the subsequent replies if The Sixth Sense came out in '99 and 50 First Dates was 2004, then it was giving away a major movie ending less than 5 years after it first came out.

I would say there was a hell of alot of people who hadnt seen The Sixth Sense at that point and may have got round to it at some point. So I see the complaints being valid, however had it been a 15 year gap between the 2 movies then you cant really complain.
