Is there anybody there?

I watched this film for the second time the other day and I just love it. It's just a really cute story, but that girl does kind of get annoying. I can't believe more people haven't seen this film and wanted to comment. This is now one of my favorite foreign films. There is just something I like about films with adolescents on summer vacations that makes them enjoyable films.

i just watched the last half today and i thought it was great. That girl was too annoying with her "trendy" language and such but aside from that it was a good movie.

i also like this movie and the acting was natural and realistic, especially the annoying teen, i've actually met people like her.

I just saw the film today and thought it was a great throwback to 80's teenager movies with an updated feel, but I couldn't get over how much the lead actress looks almost exactly like Famke Janssen from X-Men and GoldenEye. Aside from that, it was an above-average romance movie... makes me want to visit Greece!

Enjoyed G & C a lot. At first characters were hard to follow but once I settled into the rhythm of the film it was fine. As for the "annoying" teenager she was just 14 & her behavior seemed quite appropriate.
If you like this movie, try In July (Im Juli). The characters were older but it had the same kind of summer, traveling for romance kind of vibe.

Well, very realistic that the 14-year old girl looked quite fat and ugly. But not every girl looks with 14 drop-dead gorgeous.
And it was a refreshing change from other teen sexuality movies like American Pie 1-3,Kids or Virtual Sexuality(which by the way were good films too, just not so entertaining, fresh, spontaneous).

Of course she's annoying, she's young and trying too hard to grow up.

I must say, we (my husband, kids and I) love this film. It is a very fun, not to mention beautiful film. The scenery alone is worth watching, but the wit, and wisdom sure doesn't hurt.

do they talk english on this movie or italian?

reply

They spoke Italian. I saw this movie on a Friday night and I was trying so hard to remember the name of this movie. I loved it. I remember being like Megghy - awkward teenage girl obsessed with having a boyfriend and wanting a hot guy take her virginity. The movie was hilarious.

I saw this movie and thought it was great -- not a 'chick flick', more like a coming of age movie -- with a girl trying to hard to 'grow up' and (ironically) setting her sights on a guy who's own girlfriend complains he refuses to 'grow up' -- but in the process, 2 people that do really love each other discover each other again, while a girl trying to hard to grow up accepts herself.
