Ciao, Potato Head!

There is a scene at the beach where Andrea says goodbye to Megghy saying something like " Tupedo" or "Tubedo".
The sub titles said "Later, Potato Head!"

I looked it up on google translate but nothing returned. Does anyone know what ialian words he was saying? and does it really translate to Potato head?

Thanks.

He calls her "Tubero" i.e. tuber. It's supposedly intended to be a very unconventional term of endearment, such as "patatina" (little potato) whose use is similar to that of "pumpkin" in English. When Meggy tells Stefania about it, she comments it's "sweet".
