Was Jesse Friedman wrongfully convicted and jailed in 1988? The National Center for Reason and Justice invites you to a free screening of never-before seen evidence.
In 1988 at the height of a national hysteria involving child sex abuse cases (such as the McMartin case), 18-year-old Jesse Friedman of Great Neck was sent to jail, charged with hundreds of violent sexual crimes alleged to have occurred
in after-school computer classes conducted by his father. In 2010 the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals stated there was a “reasonable likelihood he was wrongfully convicted” and his guilty plea was “coerced.” Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice has agreed to review the case.
Join a Q&A after the screening with Andrew Jarecki and Marc Smerling, director and producer of the landmark documentary film, Capturing the Friedmans, and civil rights attorney Ronald Kuby.
Walk-ins welcome, but to guarantee a seat please RSVP at (212) 414-5857 or [email protected]
