This is a fake documentary, right?

OK, I know it's a real documentary, but it looked quite similar to many later fake documentaries (mockumentaries). Which probably means that the more recent fake documentaries have borrowed from Capturing. Look how the family just so conveniently had videotaped many of the important events in their life. It looks a lot like Paranormal Activity or some other more recent film of the same kind. However, you can tell that Capturing was the real doc by the fact that it didn't include any footage of child abuse - in a fake film, there would have been some camera accidentally filming how the abuse actually took place. And the little girl dancing in a white dress in an old film - that's like the most cliched scene of fake home movies.
