It Takes an Emperor to rule an Empire

Imperium: Augustus is without THE story of Gaius Julius Caesar Octavius Augustus. Unlike the debacle that was that TV movie "Empire", "Augustus" more closely follows the real life of Augustus Caesar. Although the sets and costumes were cheap, the acting was superb. The one thing that bugged me the most about "Empire" was that Augustus' Caesar's girlfriend/wife Livia Drucilla was not mentioned even once in the series. Without a doubt, hands down, Augustus ranks as the most realistic and honored retelling of Augustus Caesar's life I've seen yet.

"Empire" was like a Gladiator wannabe! I think this film is really great, the acting was good and those who like good looking actors to stare at get it too.

I'm Delilah... what do you think when you hear my name?

I agree with you.

I agree this was better done than Empire and your right it is pretty strange that in a movie about Augustus they'd leave out Livia given what a huge influence she was on him. To be fair though this movie focused mainly on his military/political rise rather than his personal life, though she was a bigger part of his rise than Tiberius and Julia who got more mention than her, well they were after his rise really. So it is a bit strange, yes.
