this film saddened me and angered me so much

When i saw how fin was treated by the scum of the earth. Especelly that rude old woman at the store who took his picture. What angered me was that i knew many ppl like that in real life and im sure peter had to deal with them in his personal life. The look of despair on his face when the old with took his picture. *beep* cu nt.

I had to deal with ppl like that as well because i had noticible hair loss when i was around 19-20 and i have been rediculed included in public by scumbags. One man around 40 said that i look like a neo nazi to my face. And i remembered i was just life fin. Defeated. I kept my head down and let all those *beep* do this to me

I hope that in today's time if someone insulting him like that he can sue their ass for hate crime. Just like someone eho insult black ppl based on their race.

I thought it was a movie about the power of friendship. That for every bigoted tool you run into, there's someone else willing to offer you friendship without judgement.

Btw, any idea why the the fellow who said you looked like neo-nazi equated hair loss with fascism? Such an odd thing.

Because i shaved my head

I shave my head and I've never been called a nazi, neo or otherwise. Still an odd connection, imo.
Anyway, stay positive mate. Dwelling on the opinions of d**kheads is a waste of your time.

Maybe he shaved his head 30 years ago when shaved heads weren't very popular or common and associated with neo nazis?

I have to admit, I did laugh at the parts when they were fucking with Fin. I don't know why, I just thought they were funny. Nothing personal against little people.... I've had friends that are vertically challenged.

I would never do that to a dwarf in real life but whatever. People are fascinated by dwarfs because it's not something you see every day. I'm sure the stares can be annoying but it is what it is. People are just curious, that's all.

I took another look at "The Station Agent" yesterday. I did notice the old lady in the store this time (each time I watch it something different stands out). She's not rude, she isn't making fun of him. It's more a look of I admire this little guy is out and trying his best.

I also noticed a difference between Olivia and the Librarian. First of all, both of them feel sorry for Fin. They like him because they feel he is no threat. Unlike Joe. Joe is a regular guy, so they don't know what he's up to. As for the difference - the Librarian is instantly comfortable with Fin. Plus, she feels a little bit of a physical attraction for him. Olivia on the other hand, really doesn't know what to do with him. When her Joe and Fin sit down to eat, and then Joe suddenly has to leave, Olivia is not happy about it. It's not that she dislikes Fin - she just isn't completely comfortable with him. As the film progresses, Olivia does become more at ease around Fin. By the ending, her Joe and Fin have something special together.

Ok, and to the OP - not to make light of it, but we've all had moments where we have been hurt. The difference with Fin is - he was probably made fun of since he was cognizant of the world. So, it's understandable, that as we find Fin, aside from his partner Henry, he doesn't really want anything to do with anybody. Henry knows this, it's why he leaves him the depot - so Fin can be alone - free from the constant ridicule of the world.
