of the good disney shows in my opinion i know people are going to disagree but this really captured the same whatever it is that the old shows ie the famous jet jackson, even stevens, lizzie maguire had the plot was funny without being forced and i dont know what it was but this just reminded me of old disney
Yeah the feeling you get when watching shows like these are...different...compared to when you watch the newer shows. These days, most DC shows have no substance and you feel like they're just ANOTHER ONE of those childish, easily-forgettable shows/movie.
laughing tracks are used in too many shows these days...but i have to point out that a show like big bang theory does not use laughing tracks...it is performed live...probably with lots of bloopers but still...the laughing isn't fake so every show with laughing is like..you know..fake
I agree with you. I despise Corey in the house and life with derek. I kind of like Hannah Montana. It's not too bad. Well,I wouldn't know about any recent disney shows since Disney has been taken off the air in my country. (it costs extra to have it in your cable package now)
I know. This was one of the best shows on Disney. The acting wasn't over the top and the plot was awesome. All these newer shows seem to be the same: similar plots and horrible acting. Every once in a while I'll catch it on disney XD, but apart from that it rarely ever comes on. It's depressing
what was good about it was that when they had the finale and he went back to the future i actually felt bad as where everyone on hannah montana or suite life could get hit with a bus on the show and it wouldn't even matter
I totally agree. a while after POTF ended, i stoppped watching Disney channel for good. and not to boycott or anything, its cuz the shows suck now. Phil of the future was the last decent, actually FUNNY show on DC. I tried watching Wizards of Waverly Place, and don't get me started on Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Z&C was ok i guess, but it the comedy was kinda...ehh. But nothing could make me laugh on those shows
Go hang out with your bearded freak friends! I don't care!
I actually disagree. I grew up with Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, That's So Raven and Phil of the Future and while I miss those shows so much [most of all Even Stevens]I find Wizards of Waverly Place, and Hannah Montana to be just as funny and cute. [Excluding JONAS and Sonny with a Chance. I could never sit through an episode of either of those because I find them beyond boring.]
I think the main reason that so many feel like the older shows were better than the shows now are because, well...we're grown up now. I watched those shows when I was 13-14 years old. I'm now 19, and yes I still watch Disney channel, but of course, I always catch myself watching an episode from any series and thinking "Wow this is the cheesiest scene ever. Gag me" But that's what happens when you grow up and your mind matures. I'm confident that if you watched Lizzie McGuire Season 1 Episodes, you'd find them horribly cheesy and slightly dumb. Though of course, we'll probably deny how dumb it is solely for the fact that it brings back childhood memories. Haha. But anyway, as long as Disney doesn't keep churning out shows like Sonny and JONAS, I think they'll be good.
Couldn't agree more. The acting and the scripts of Jonas and Sonny.....it's all awful...it is...well makes you feel embarrassed on their behalf sometimes...it makes watching the show awkward :s
The ending of Phil of the future was terrible....in a way :) but it was open so one can only hope they stay in the past with keely :S
I really disagree with your post. First of all Hannah Montana was a crap show, hell it is not even original, just some rip off some 80s cartoon. I watched episodes of Even Stevens, Phil of the future, and that's so raven and I don't find them cheesy at all. I can't stand suite life with every fiber if my being, I can't think of a show that is worse and it really baffles me that people can actually like it, and that show came out not long after POTF.
I don't believe it's because we're grown up, no that's BS. Up until the mid 2000s most sitcoms could be enjoyed by the whole family, but now it's catering to young viewers who have the slightest idea of what good comedy is but that's the crowd that can be easiest to convince to buy into whatever crap they are airing.

Oh, no, most of us definitely agree with you. I agree with one exception: Life with Derek. THAT was the last good Disney show. Unfortunately, neither of those shows were promoted well, or appealed to Disney's target audience, so they didn't last very long, despite how good they were for being on the Disney Channel. To be fair to LwD, though, it wasn't really a DC exclusive, which is probably why it was better than the rest of their programming.
Also, it would be unfair for me not to admit that one of the main reasons I watched the shows were because of Aly (Keely) and Ashley (Casey). Both gorgeous actresses.
Phil of the Future was a good show. Really the Last good Disney show was Hannah Montana....that show was funny. Now that being said the last season of HM wasn't very good..but still better than anything else on Disney. I thought Zach and Cody was good until they got on the boat. But Phil of the Future is way better than anything on there now.
After Phil of the Future got cancelled, I really tried to get into other Disney Channel shows. The first season of Hannah Montana wasn't too bad, but the jokes seemed very forced. It seemed like they would say a joke, then wait for you to laugh at it. And the acting...ugh. Anyway, I'm still wanting DC to release Phil and Even Stevens on DVD. I miss them so much. It's getting hard to see my Ricky Ullman.
Amen. I miss these days. When I was in my mid-teens, Disney was my main go-to channel when I turned on the TV, because there were so many good quality shows still on. Cartoon Network, my previous favorite, was already going to hell at around this time. Nowadays, Disney is unwatchable. Makes me sad, really.
