Giligan's Island

Have you noticed how Phil of the Future is a lot like Giligan's Island? I mean think about it. They were expected to just go on a summer vacation but ended up stranded in a specific time period for a lot longer than they expected. I would say Phil is kind of like Giligan because he is the main character. The dad is kind of like the Professor because he can fix about anything but he can't repair the time machine (boat). Keely I would say would be like the skipper even though she was never with them when they went on their "three hour tour." The mom would be like either Ginger or Mary Ann simply because they seem to be the less memorable characters. The millionare and his wife I would say would be kind of like the wife simply because I ran out of characters lol. But also have you noticed how like in a bunch of episodes it seems like they may finally get off the island or get back out of 2004, but something always gets in their way? Also there are a bunch of crazy things that happens in both shows as they are stranded there so it's not all necessarily trying to get off the island or moment in time. Anyway what do you guys think. I don't know if anyone came up with this before but it's something I noticed.
