Some corrections:
1. USA is *currently* ruled
2. by a bunch of insane *Jesus or other Monotheistic dictator-type figurehead* freaks
3. who believe that anything remotely *different from their views, especially when it comes to sexuality* is pure evil
4. *unless it profits them directly, in which case it has to be [also] exploited.*
5. Sex *(unless it is for procreation purposes only and is not enjoyed as to become "addictive")* is considered MUCH worse than violence in the USA *because the pseudo-philosophy of dispensationalism teaches them that the End of Days is near and that the increase of violence is to be expected, is natural and is a welcome sign of the End being near."*
Well, that's better.
The sad example of 'Being Julia' (lack of publicity and the risible R rating) suggests that in addition to the publicized ratings criteria (swear words, nudity, volence etc.) there is a secret MPAA rule, something like this:
"Should the movie in question contain any original thought, the rating must be adjusted _up_ by at least 1 level;
Should the movie be based on a thought that questions the current institutional order (i.e., family, religion, state-run capitalism, America's superiority etc.) whether rightly or wrongly and may appear to be persuasive, it must be assigned either R or NC-17 rating;
Alternatively, if the movie has the effect of numbing or dumbing the puiblic it should be granted a milder rating (e.g., R instead of NC-17 etc.; R instead of 'Snuff' etc.)"
