It looked really good in the trailer, mostly *because* of the Transformer jets (nobody says Gobot jets ;=) but there are only 2 short scenes of the T-jets, a lot of Matrix-derivate fight scenes, and a time portal/alien/speedup-bracelet that looked like they're partially-copied from Stargate SG1. I'm glad I rented this instead of buying it.

In my experience, the transforming robots are more common in Japanese anime (Mobile Suit Gundam, Robotech Macross, Danguard Ace, Star Vengers, Gaiking) than in their live action films (Godzilla vs Space Godzilla).
