Takeshi's acting in this film was awesome! I know, the movie itself may not have been all that great, but I think his performance was quite spectacular for the leading good guy role. Anyone happen to agree?
BTW- Takeshi is in the new chinese epic 'House of Flying Daggers' with Zhang Ziyi and Andy Lau.

I agree. He can play a cool tough guy yet have a sense of humor without being wooden unlike a lot of Hollywood hero types. He and Goro Kishitani (Mizoguchi) carried this film. Otherwise it would have been just a so-so E.T., Terminator, Matrix rip off. Anne Suzuki was good too. Glad they didn't go with a pretty mannequin that can't act.
