I just saw Returner and while it gets no marks for originality (this may well be the most unoriginal movie I've ever seen) it's so much fun I didn't care all that much for the blatant riffs. The action was fast and entertaining, the special effects were surprisingly solid, but best of all, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Ann Suzuki have an absolutely natural chemistry that can't be beaten.
sharethis was indeed a cool movie, and although, like you say, some of it was copied, it was just such a cool looking movie i didn`t mind. it was also quite funny.
shareI borrowed "Returner" from my coworker, because I just saw "House of Flying Daggers" and now I want to see more Takeshi Kaneshiro films. Yes, it is totally unoriginal, but it still is a lot of fun to watch. And Miyamoto and Millie were great together! It's so cute when they call each other "moron"!!! I would have loved it if Millie did become his assistant at the end!
