and Disney when it comes to turning Movies into books...basically, all they do is take the Title [I mean, look at all the classic disney movies(I am NOT hating on them JUST pointing out how endlessly different they are) in The Lttle Mermaid[Book] Ariel dies at the end, Hunchback of Notre Damn Qusemote can Hear for some crazy mirical of a reason...I mean the list goes on & on & on]
I know how HUGLEY Disney can mess up Books when it comes to Movies[and Idunno, when I see THIS movie[ANY of them actully, LoL] I find it VASTLY hard to believe they actully took ANY of it from the book...it's all SOOO Chessey]
So, I wanna know how TOTTALY different is this from the books????
They didn't include one of the members in the movies. There are five Cheetah Girls in the book series, but in the movies, there are only four. They cut out Angie, who was also Aqua's twin sister. Well, in Cheetha Girls 3, there is no Galleria, which is even worse. They also changed the charecter of Dorinda from biracial (half black, half white) to full on white.
The movie is completely different from the books. First of all there (as far as I know)are 4 Cheetah Girls books, each having 4 volumes. As was mentioned, Angie's left out and Dorinda's race was changed, but there are so many more differences than that. Galleria was pretty much the same character in the books, but she wasn't nearly as obnoxious. Chanel's mom's boyfriend, Luke, is from France in the books (not Barcelona as in the 2nd movie), but the character Luke in the movies doesn't really exist in the books. Luke is still Juanita's boyfriend but he's just "Mr. Tycoon" and you almost never see him. Also the Cheetah Girls never leave the country in the books. Dorinda in the books, is 11 (the others are about 15),all 5 girls are freshmen but Dorinda, Galleria and Chanel goes to Fashion Industries, while Aqua and Angie go to La Gaurdia. Dorinda's family is much more developed in the books as well- the books' point of view shifts between 4 of the girls (you never read Angie's point of view which is probably why she was the one cut from the movies). The twins, Aquanette and Anginette, have a lot of family stuff going on in the books too- specifically with their father. Oh yeah and only about 20% of the plot of this movie (including characters) was actually in any of the books. The other too movies' plots weren't based on the books at all.
Sorry this is so long winded and jumbled, I just wanted to express just how VERY different the books are. They're definetely worth reading. I tried to cover the main differences but there are a lot more too. I think that's how Disney's able to call them "Disney Channel ORIGINAL Movies". Lemonade Mouth is the most similar book-based DCOM I can think of off the top of my head. Twitches is way, WAY different though (and also a really good book series). :D
