Since the U.S. has to be top of the tops and steal every countries' fashion, television, and humor ; will the show be continuing to make new episodes on the BBC. Is the stupid Americanized one gonna be made instead of the much better original one? Please tell me no!!!! What's next, are we gonna steal So Graham Norton!? There's no way!!
I heard that they are going to start producing new episodes in Britan soon, and the new season will be on in America in 2005. I don't know if they will show repeats or not.
As long as it continues on BBC America, so I can make my friend tape it for me. I would rather die than watch the American version, though. I mean, why would anyone want to watch it with an American cast? What's the point in watching it without Jack Davenport and Ben Miles? I mean, really--the female members of the British cast are all kind of generic and could probably be replaced (though if I had a choice I'd still keep all of them), but Steve, Jeff and Patrick are just...they're unreplaceable. Who else but Richard Coyle could pull off Jeff? And let's face it--there are no American TV actors sexy enough to be Patrick. And, devoted Jack Davenport fangirl that I am, even if they kept the rest of the British cast and just replaced Steve, I'd still never watch it. You just can't have "Coupling" without the British cast. You can't. It won't work.
I don't see the actors that NBC have hired pulling off the charcters as well as the actors in the British version. Jeff, in my mind, would be the hardest character too pull off. I hope the American version bombs, so they go back and make the Britsh version.
