shareHaha, I totally agree, I've been wondering the same thing since I first saw the cover =p
shareWhy ? My guess is... because of stupid gaijins who keep *beep* up original cinema posters to sell more DVDs to viewers they despise. When it come to asian movies, it gets really dirty, because they don't know sh*t about it and have to come up with a something sexy enough to attract the customer. The two chinese guys on the original poster, never heard of them, let's put a chinese chick on the foreground, it will do. They pretty much did the same with south-korean movie Shiri (or Swiri), only this time the french editor kept the US cover... that was painful.
Anyway, have you seen Infernal Affairs 2's (hideous) cover ? No chinese girl who never appears in the movie, but they put Shawn Yu's head on Chapman To's body, and THAT's not bad either. :)

There is a "edit page" button at the bottom of the page, but I haven't found where to edit the poster. It is possible to add a poster, but it won't change the red one. If someone has an idea...
Yes, the poster you chose is a good pick, it's the french one. We had the great idea of keeping the original poster from Hong Kong. :)
the original north american theatrical movie poster would have sufficed, it looks interesting enough to western audiences without cheapening it *cough* red cover *cough*

She's Elva Hsiao. At least it's her head on maybe someone else's body. The actress was a relatively popular singer in Taiwan/Hong Kong when the movie was made. I think she was cast just to get her some big-screen appearance as a career boost. Her appearance on the DVD cover was misleading advertising but also more exposure for her mug.
Her character was the former girlfriend of Tony Leung who was the father of her daughter. She attended Tony's funeral at the end of the movie.
Yeah, you would expect some cheap, pseudo B-movie from that cover. I'm glad I saw the film before looking at it.
