I really enjoyed this film

I hardly ever post on IMDB, just lurk and find new films to watch. I was hesitant to rent this after reading some reviews but I'm glad I did. I recently saw Stardust and I like Claire Danes performances so I thought I'd give it a go. It took me some time to digest it but it's well worth seeing.

The parts I enjoyed the most were when Steve Martin was off camera. He wrote a nice screenplay but I think there were better people that could play the role of Ray. Claire Danes and Jason S. did wonderful jobs though. Some of the more comedic scenes with Jeremy were gold. I also enjoyed the commentary. The director seems pretty down to earth and his take on the film and directing in general were pretty cool. I'll have to check out some more of his films.

The score was kind of over the top and took me out of the moment and some of the scene transitions with the stars were a little cheesy but the cinematography overall was great.

7/10.

I liked it too, but I thought it was longer than it needed to be. I know Martin took a short story and expanded it, so I'm curios about the short story. It's probably very good.

I thought Clare Danes was excellent. She was perfectly cast as a 20 something who is not over-the-top good looking adding to the credibility of the story. I was not as impressed with the guy playing Jeremy.

My biggest problem is I walked into the kitchen for 2 minutes and missed why they broke up. I'm also not a big fan of relationship movies (chick flicks), but the story was decent enough to hold my attention.
