I love Claire Danes as an actress, but I just don't feel like she was right for this role at all. Does anyone else agree?? The others fit their roles perfectly in my opinion.

sharei agree with the original poster. although i saw the " coming soon " poster for this movie first, then read the book - as i read the book i still wasnt picturing claire danes. although i personally cant think of any other actress that would have pulled off the role any better than she did.
shareI thought she was absolutely perfect for the role of Mirabelle. She's a fantastic actress, who conveyed the feelings of the character perfectly. She's also a very beautiful woman.

I just finished reading the book a week and a 1/2 ago and how the book reads, I can totally see her as Mirabelle. Now I have to see the movie!!!

Claire Danes is a great actress! She did really well in this role. It's no T3, but just the same, great job on Claire's part.

I actually thought she was perfect in the role. Her depiction of the withdrawal from anti-depressants was spot-on. She was great in every way.
She conveyed the fragility and sensitivity of Mirabelle faultlessly. One of the most fine dramatic actresses of our time.

I think she overacts and I've never felt impressed by her performances. But I liked her in this film for the most part....although the scene of her crying on the bed when she discovered the letter that Ray wrote was horrible. The actual scene was great but her crying 'technique' annoyed me.
