RAY'S SHOES

Did anyone make particular note of the scene in which Ray meets Mirabelle and buys the gloves and as he walks away the camera zooms onto his lower legs.... in a sort of slow motion way....then pans to Mirabelle whose facial expression (I interpret as) shows interest. I have two interpretations of why but don't want to say yet. Does anyone have any feelings about RAY'S SHOES? Curious...

my mum used to check out guys shoes to see if they were cleaned. if they were it showed the guy was attentive.

Sometimes women use men's shoes to make quick judgments about them. Seems to be the case here.
