He met Rachel before the memory wipe

Surprised no one else has mentioned it. He meet and hits on her, then goes to Alcom a few days later and gets the marker injected. When they wiped his memory, the dinner party, although it had been 3 years ago, would have been fresh in his mind. As if it had been just a few days ago.

This happens with the Red Sox making the playoffs bit. That was the last thing he remembered.

In my opinion, the writers should have pointed that out. Maybe have Michael say, "you're that doctor, I know you."

Also when she asks if he remembers her, he could have said, "just from the party."

I mean, he may hit on a lot of women, given his lifestyle, but if he was attracted he would have remembered.

Sigh*

Just another flaw in a very flawed movie, I know, but this one really bugs me.

I was just thinking this myself, but then it struck me.
He met Rachel at the party, but he doesn't know that the girl from the party is the one he spent three years getting to know and falling in love with.

Of course when he gets his brain fried by the fed he starts seeing glimpses, but nothing specific or obviously Rachel, so it is understandable that he may suffer the confusion.

At least that's how I am seeing it right now.

He just met a Rachel he knew was working for the Eckhart character, then they send him someone who vaguely looks like her, he should make the connection unless they wiped his brain cells along with his memory.

Going by the movie, you're perfectly right. He should've remembered her very well, he tried to pick her up a few days before and just met her again before he took on the job. I noticed this flaw too.

Maybe in the short story it is implied that his memory was wiped from an earlier point in time?
