The only time I can think of when it would be OK is if I was practicing my marriage ceremony then the old assasination gang I was in came in, shot everyone, beat me up and then my boss shot me in the head. Then I would be really really really mad. I would need a kick-ass samurai sword then.

i don't think a line should be drawn. there are many reasons to kill a person just pick one, and boom, go do it. me i would kill someone who is threatening my life or that of a family member, to protect them and myself. let's say you had the chance to kill hitler before world war 2 even begain, would you kill him to prevent that massacre?

But if the actor was a cop, no one would have any problem with the paparazzi (as portrayed in this film) getting what they deserve.

I don't think this movie really touches on reality. In reality any harassing behavior or potentially endangering behavior would be dealt with in a court of law.
Paparazzi would face criminal charges of stalking and would face restraining orders. If they broke the order they go to jail.
Because of this the movie went a little over the top describing people who would kill to get someone off of their back. Now a days all it would take is a lawyer and then they would file all the necessary paperwork with the county clerk and so on.
