Similarities

So I just started reading Dean Koonzt's book Intensity. The first 150 pages or so is almost identical to High Tension. It has since gone in a different direction but I thought I was reading the book version of High Tension! Does anyone know if there are any connections? The book is copyrighted 1995.

I thought the exact same thing. I read the book Intensity many years ago. When I watched "High Tension" I thought I was seeing that book on film.

Aja has admitted that he "MIGHT" have been influenced by the book. According to Koontz's website, he knows of the film but finds it disgusting so wants no association with it.

Intensity was Dean Koontz's first novel published in like 1979. This movie blatantly plagiarized it and changed the ending (even with her hiding at the top underneath the bed.) the "villain" is awesome though. Great representation, but come on man, don't rip off stuff and not give credit where credit is due.

Great movie until the stupid twist and in the book Edglar Vess rapes and kills her friend before leaving with the body
